HOARSE GIRL is an ongoing research into monstrous vocality.

The work exposes the spectator to sound not as something to be heard and meaningfully processed, but as intensity, an affect that invades and quite literally sets the organs vibrating. Accompanied by heavy bass and distorted percussion. The performance is structured as a series of improvised songs, where the mouth continuously deforms itself into (un)familiar shapes. Each song focuses on a different mode of vocal performativity: lamentation, screaming and speaking.
